Well, a lot has happened in the last few weeks. My DH did not get tested for Tay-Sachs. The doctor's office he went to did not have the necessary tube to collect his blood in, so we decided not to worry about it. What would we do anyway?
The donation clinic contacted me to let me know they may have found a match for my eggs, but I would not be able to cycle until July/August. I also found out even if I was to donate to the frozen bank, I would have to wait until August/September. I really do not want to wait that long, considering I would have to wait to TTC until December or January. I know it's only 7 months away, but it seems like such a looong time. If I were to donate to a recipient, I would have to get on her cycle, which sucks. I have not heard back from the clinic, so who knows.
We found out today that my DH will lose his job at the end of June. The company he works for has lost their contract with the account they handle, so they're moving out, while the next carrier company takes over. Luckily, we knew it could happen ahead of time, so we were definitely prepared. So, it looks like I will have to donate my eggs this fall. We have no choice but to wait.
I hate the economy! Losing his job would not be so bad if there were other jobs available. So, he's looking into getting his CDL as well as getting P.O.S.T. certified (law enforcement). I would hate for him to be a police officer (they get paid so little here and he would be in danger), but we have to pay bills. I am praying he finds something soon...I feel so bad for him...

Genetics testing
The nurse at RBA contacted me yesterday afternoon to let me know that my thyroid test came back fine. But...she also informed me that I am a carrier of the Tay-Sachs disease. So, DH has to get tested as well. If we both are carriers, there is a one in four chance our child will be born with this disease. Here is the link to Wikipedia...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tay-Sachs_disease.
I am still eligible to donate my eggs, so hopefully I will cycle next month.

Counseling session
Last night, DH and I went to Athens to see a marriage and infertility therapist. He had to go with me, since we are married, to give his consent. We had to complete this process for egg donation. I still have to fill out a questionnaire that will decipher whether I have any mental issues. We were there for 2 hours!! She went over everything!! Our childhoods, our marriage, our lives. I felt like it was an interview, but it was nice to get my husband's opinion on everything and what he thinks about me. Sometimes I get down on myself and knowing that my husband thinks I'm smarter than him made me feel so good. :) He thinks I'm caring and sensitive, but quiet. He really pays attention to me and my needs. Last night confirmed it. If we ever need counseling, I think we will see her.
I am still waiting on my BW and they will let me know when I can start. Hopefully, I can start next month.

Update
I went to my appt to get my thyroid levels checked, so I should get those results this week. DH doesn't seem to think he'll have a job after June, so I am prepared to donate my eggs and hopefully when we are ready to try (August), he will have another job lined up.
Friday night, we had my half-brother stay the night and we watched Marley and Me after eating at Cracker Barrell (yum!). We had terrible storms that night. Saturday, DH had his track day at Road Atlanta and it went well, although my little brother (who's twelve) just want to hang out with Jake. He had no interest in anything else! DH did well until after lunch, when he crashed his motorcycle. Here are a few professional pics...
OK, I can't seem to download pics, so I'll update later...Good night!!

Forgot to mention
I neglected to mention that the nurse at the donation center called me about my BW and wanted me to come back in on Friday. Apparently, my thyroid level was slightly higher than normal. It was 4.9 and should not be much higher than 4.6. So, they are going to do another blood test, but it will be only a thyroid panel. I asked about my other BW and she said everything else looked normal, but they have not received my test results from the genetics testing. So, I will ask the nurse when I go back in for more blood work.
Still no period...I guess I'm off again. I don't know if I should take another test. Normally, I ovulate on the 17th CD and today would only be 14DPO and I tested yesterday, so maybe (crossing my fingers) I tested too early?!?!?!?!

?!?!!?!?
So, I'm late. BFN. What the hell?!?!?! I was excited there for a minute until I discovered I am not pregnant. If I was, I would be due December 13th, which would be perfect! It's right before DH's birthday and I wouldn't come back to work until later in January. Oh, well. I guess I have to wait until May to see if DH will still have a job. Boo!

Jobs
DH informed me last night that he will find out for sure about his job on May 1st. Apparently, there is a bidding war, so it could go either way. I am so nervous about it. The prez of our company, as well as the VP will be coming here on April 28th. So, I am also nervous about that. My company does not like to lay off, but with the economy the way it is, you never know.
I got to thinking about the egg donation and I am not sure about going through with it. Of course all DH can think about is $$$$, so there is no talking to him about it. I think I'll wait until May 1st to make a decision. If he is out of a job, I will do it. If he keeps his job, I will not donate my eggs at this time.

Update
So, for the past week I have had a UTI and for a short while 2 days, a yeast infection. After antibiotics, I still have a UTI. So, I am waiting on the doctor to call in another drug to cure it this time.
This morning I went for my physical exam (pap smear, boob check...basically everything they do at your normal gym appt.) and some blood work (they took at least 10 vials of blood!). I also have scheduled a counseling session, which DH has to attend as well. So, after that...if everything goes as planned (as far as my consult passes and my BW looks ok), I should cycle in May. Which means, we will have to wait until August to TTC.

Egg donation update
They finally called me and would like to schedule the physician's consult, which includes blood work, a pap smear, and a vaginal culture. I am still waiting on the phone call to schedule the appt.
In other news, I now have a UTI....great. I also am ovulating today. So, maybe we'll really start trying next month...I'm tempted to postpone the donation. We'll see.

Different page
After having a discussion about how badly I want to try for a baby, DH and I were on the same page, so I thought. We decided that we would wing it and if it happens, we'll figure it out. I was really happy about that, so I wouldn't have to chart anymore. I was charting to prevent pregnancy. So, during our rendezvous last night, he pulled out. He said he still wanted to prevent on his side, because I can still get pregnant. Men! Needless to say, I was disappointed!

Update
Well, Jake is doing well, according to the vet. I am feeling better and the cats have quit sneezing for the most part.
DH send me an e-mail this morning saying he is pretty certain he will lose his job. I hate this.

Future
I have yet to hear back from the egg donation center and I am soooo tempted to say screw it and TTC. Unfortunately, we cannot try until we know for sure DH will have a job after June of this year. I don't know if I can wait much longer to TTC. Three of my friends are now pregnant and I want to go through my first pregnancy with someone. I hate having to wait for this...in fact, I hate having to wait for anything!! I am so inpatient...
In other news, Jake is back at the vet for a follow-up, so we'll see what they say. He is not limping unless he exerts himself, but it doesn't seem to bother him much.
Both of our cats are now sneezing like crazy. I think they caught a cold that Jake brought home from the vet...poor kitties. I am not sure if I should take them to the vet or not.
Even I feel sick at the moment, but I do not want to go back to the doctor, so we'll play this one by ear.
I posted an item on Craigslist over the weekend, so let's hope we can sell it...it's an etagere (glass shelves). I also posted a few text books on Amazon and someone already bought a copy!!

Period
I got my period yesterday afternoon...28 days...so I think I'm back on my schedule. Hopefully. My cycle got off track, trying to coordinate with my co-worker's cycle and now she informed me she is pregnant. So, I hope my cycle doesn't get screwed up again!! It shouldn't, though. I called the egg donation center and called it in, so I should be receiving a phone call to schedule my physical, pap, and blood work.

Egg donation update
Yesterday, I went to Atlanta for my family history appt and they just went over my family history and my own medical history. She basically created a family tree. I was in and out in 15 minutes. My next appt will be a physical, blood work, and a pap smear. I may take a half day of vacation. I think it'll take at least an hour and the drive one way takes an hour. I am waiting on a call from them to schedule an appt.
In other news, we had almost 7 inches of snow Sunday night...pictures to prove it...

Jake, cont'd
We got a 2nd opinion from the vet and she did not recommend surgery. She suggested him taking an anti-inflammatory and no exercise for 2 weeks and then another 2 weeks without the drug (with little exercise). We will then go back for another x-ray. She said it either was a deviated growth plate or inflammation. She couldn't tell either way, but she did confirm it was due to injury. So, we'll see what happens in about a month.

Jake
When it seems getting out of debt is on the horizon, life just knocks you down. Jake has a deformed growth plate on his leg and may require surgery. We are getting a second opinion tomorrow. It seems like having a child isn't going to happen this year.
I remember DH always making fun of people going to get purebred dogs and spending a ridiculous amount of money when they are sick, but it seems we are in the exact situation now. Although we have a mutt, technically...we still did not get him from the humane society. Since DH is allergic, we agreed to get a poodle mix and since I wanted a big dog, a Labradoodle seemed to be fitting. It really has bit us in the ass this time.
Would it be horrible to find a rescue group for him? I have no idea how much this is going to cost and I want to do what we can to help him, but it seems every month there is always something wrong with him. I just don't know what to do.

First screening day
Today, I went for a vaginal u/s for the egg donation screening process. They determined that I have 2 healthy ovaries and one side has 19 follicles and the other ovary has 22 follicles, which is good...according to the nurse. I was able to see my ovaries and my uterus, which was really cool! My next appt is March 5th, where I will speak with a genetics counselor to go over my medical history, as well as my family's medical history. So, it looks like if I do the egg donation, it will not be until April at the earliest, unless they expedite the process to do it in March. We shall see.
